DeYona Gaston scores a career-high 24 points for Texas in the win.
LAWRENCE, Kan. — Trailing by as many as eight, Texas outscored Kansas 40-31 in the second half to comeback for the 68-65 win on the road at Kansas on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.
DeYona Gaston scored a career-high 24 points on 12-20 shooting and added seven rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots. Gaston made a crucial jumper to put Texas up 65-61 with 1:54 to play in the game.
Sonya Morris scored in double-figures for the 17th game of the season with 13 points. Khadija Faye grabbed 10 rebounds and tallied four steals and three blocked shots. Shay Holle provided important minutes as she knocked down two 3-point baskets and scored eight points. Rori Harmon scored nine points and posted six assists and four rebounds.
Up next the Longhorns return home to host Texas Tech on Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m. CT.
