Head Coach Ryan Murphy
"It was a tremendous final round today from Cindy. 67 at Long Cove is definitely one of the best rounds any Longhorn has played this season. I am super proud of her play this week and today really showed what she is capable of.
Per the team finish, it was a respectable showing in a very deep field. Angela had a very solid tournament although she didn't finish it off how she would have liked. Nonetheless, she is playing some great golf and it has been great for our team. Bo, Bentley and Sophie each provided a nice round towards our team total, but we will need to get more production from them as the season progresses. Once all five of our players play well during a week we will win. That day is coming."
Freshman Cindy Hsu
"This golf course is tighter than average, but my strength is driving the ball straight most of the time. The greens at this course are firm so calculating and trusting the numbers is important.
For the first and second round, I hit the ball solid and straight but struggled with club selection and getting used to the golf course. There were so many shots that I want to hit it close but ended up over the green.
For the final round, I kept telling myself to be patient, be on the green first, and trust the numbers. The greens are firm and the ball would definitely jump further to reach the distance I want. It worked really well. I hit 12 fairways, 14 greens and finished top 5 which was my goal. This is my first time I finished top 5 in a college tournament. It means a lot to me and also let me understand that I am a player that can be at this level. I'm looking forward to our tournaments in the future."
