No. 2 Women’s Swimming & Diving qualifies 19 for NCAA Championships

The Longhorns had 14 swimmers and five divers earn qualifying marks for the championship meet in Knoxville, Tenn.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Women's Swimming and Diving had 19 student-athletes qualify for the upcoming 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships to be held at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee in Knoxville campus from March 15-18. Additionally, the Longhorns have qualified all five of its swimming relays for the national meet.
Texas touts numerous top-10 rankings across multiple disciplines heading into Knoxville.
In the butterfly, the Longhorns hold the top three seeds in the 200, with junior Emma Sticklen, senior Kelly Pash and graduate student Dakota Luther ranked one, two and three, respectively. Sticklen also holds the fourth seed in the 100 fly.
Sophomore Erica Sullivan is the top-seeded swimmer in the 500 free and sits at number three in the 1650 free, while junior Olivia Bray joins Sullivan in the top 10 of the 500 free at number four. Bray is ranked in the top 10 in three events, holding the number three seed in the 200 back and seventh in the 100 back.
Pash is also ranked in the top 10 in a trio of events. In addition to her number-two spot in the 200 fly, she is seeded third in the 200 free and sixth in the 200 IM. Sticklen joins Pash in the 200 IM top 10 with at number 10.
The breaststroke events will feature freshman Lydia Jacoby and junior Anna Elendt. Jacoby is the second-seed in the 200 breast and third-seed in the 100 breast, and Elendt is the fourth-seed in the 100 breast and fifth-seed in the 200 breast.
In the diving well, sophomore Hailey Hernandez, the two-time Big 12 Championship Diver of the Meet, will compete on the 1-meter and 3-meter, as will junior Bridget O'Neil, fresh off a Big 12 title on 3-meter. Big 12 platform champion Janie Boyle qualified on both platform and 1-meter, as did senior Jordan Skilken. Freshman Sarah Carruthers qualified for the national meet on 3-meter and platform.
