The Longhorns began the 2023 NCAA Championships with a program record in the 200 medley relay and pair of bronze-medal relay performances.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Women's Swimming and Diving is in second place at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships following Wednesday's opening day of the four-day meet at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center, highlighted by a program record in the 200 medley relay.
The Longhorns tallied 64 points, trailing only Virginia (80) and holding a slight lead over California (56) and Stanford (52).
Texas opened the meet with a program record in the 200-yard medley relay of 1:33.22 from the squad of Olivia Bray, Anna Elendt, Emma Sticklen and Grace Cooper, breaking their own mark established against NC State in January. Tonight's final was highlighted by Elendt's second-leg breaststroke time of 25.54, the fastest 50 breast of the evening. The quartet now owns four of the top-six 200 medley relay marks in program history with all four marks established over the last four months.

The third-place performance for Texas was the best in the event since the Longhorns finished third at the 2009 NCAA Championships.
