Longhorns finish the season 26-10 with a Big 12 regular season championship.
AUSTIN, Texas. — Texas women's basketball fell in the NCAA Second Round against Louisville, 73-51 on Monday at Moody Center.
DeYona Gaston led the Longhorns with 12 points and Rori Harmon and Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda added 10 each. Harmon led the team with nine rebounds.
Texas (26-10) shot 7-14 (50 percent) in the first quarter closed the period with consecutive baskets to tie the game 16-16.
Texas trailed 37-23 at halftime, but opened the second half with a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to nine at 40-31. Louisville responded with a 12-0 run to go up 52-31 at the 2:54 mark of the third quarter.
The Longhorns and Cardinals went back and fourth in the final quarter, which Louisville narrowly outscored Texas, 17-16.
