Rowing opens season as No. 1 in Pocock CRCA Coaches Poll

Texas Rowing opens the season ranked No. 1 for the second consecutive season.
AUSTIN, Texas – Two-time defending national champion Texas Rowing is ranked No. 1 on the first Pocock CRCA Coaches Poll, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced on Wednesday. It marks the second consecutive year in which Texas opens the season atop the rankings.
The Longhorns received 19 of 20 first-places votes to retain the No. 1 ranking for the 12th consecutive poll.
Stanford, the runner-up at each of the last two national regattas, was ranked second and received the other first place-vote, while Yale, Princeton and Washington round out the top five.
The seven-time defending Big 12 Conference champions return three student-athletes who earned CRCA All-American accolades during last year's championship season. Rowers Kaitlin Knifton and Anna Jensen and coxswain Rachel Rane return, as well as 2022 Big 12 Co-Newcomer of the Year Grace Holland.
Texas will open the season in California on April 1-2 at the San Diego Crew Classic. Racing will take place at Mission Bay Park on Fiesta-Crown Point Shores in San Diego.
