No. 2 Rowing has three named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Anna Jensen, Kate Knifton and Rachel Rane advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Rowing's Kaitlin Knifton, Anna Jensen and Rachel Rane have been selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's At-Large Team, the organization announced Tuesday. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

The Academic All-District selections now advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 21.
To be nominated for this honor, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50-percent of the team's games. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and been on a college roster in that sport for two years.
Rowers Knifton and Jensen and coxswain Rane have helped guide the Texas I Eight to victories in five of six races this season with a head-to-head mark of 19-1 in those races, including victories over eight ranked opponents. All three were members of 2021 and 2022 NCAA Championship teams, also winning titles as part of the First Eight each of the last two seasons.
Knifton carried a 4.0 grade point average as a graduate student, receiving her graduate certificate in sports communication. The 2023 Big 12 Rower of the Year, she is a two-time first-team All-American, three-time All-Big 12 Team selection and was named the 2022 USRowing U23 Co-Female Athlete of the Year. The Austin native was a 2022 Academic All-District honoree and is a two-time CRCA National Scholar Athlete and three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection.
Rane graduated in the spring with a 3.8135 GPA as a Radio-TV-Film major. A native of Glencoe, Ill., she is a two-time first-team All-American, three-time All-Big 12 Team honoree and has helped cox Texas to three Big 12 Conference titles. Rane has twice earned CRCA National Scholar Athlete accolades, is a two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection and was named to the 2019-20 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.
Jensen sports a 3.8151 GPA as a sport management major. The junior from Midland, Mich. was a 2022 Pockock First-Team All-American and the 2021 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year. In 2022, she earned CRCA National Scholar Athlete and first-team Academic All-Big 12 accolades. She is a three-time Big 12 Conference champion and was named to the 2020-21 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team.
The two-time defending national champion Longhorns will compete in the NCAA Championships at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, N.J. beginning Friday, May 26 through Sunday, May 28. Texas is looking to become the second program to win three consecutive national titles and the first since Ohio State accomplished the feat from 2013-15. The Longhorns have finished in the top-3 in each of the last four NCAA Championship regattas.
