Women’s Basketball’s Madison Booker wins gold at U19 World Cup

Booker is now a three-time USA Basketball gold medalist.
MADRID, Spain — Incoming freshman Madison Booker and team USA captured the gold medal at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup on Sunday in Madrid, Spain.
With the 69-66 victory over host country Spain, USA won their 10th title in the event.
For Booker it is her third gold medal with team USA. Booker helped team USA win gold at the U16 Americas Championship and the U17 World Cup.
USA finished the World Cup with a perfect 7-0 record over the tournament that took place from July 15-23 in Madrid.
Booker scored 36 points, grabbed 25 rebounds and tallied five assists in the tournament. In the gold medal game Booker recorded seven points and 10 rebounds.
Booker, a 6-1 small forward from Germantown High School (Ridgeland, Miss.) is the No. 12 ranked recruit by ESPN and a McDonalds All-American. Booker is a three-time USA Basketball gold medalist. Booker is a three-time All-State selection, four-time All-Region honoree and two-time Metro Player of the Year. Booker led her team to the 2023 Mississippi Basketball State 6A Championship. Booker was part of the inaugural USA women's team at the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit. The U.S. defeated the World Team, 100-79.
