Women’s Basketball’s Booker earns Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors

Booker earns third Big 12 weekly award of the season.
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas women's basketball freshman Madison Booker earned Big 12 freshman of the week honors the league announced on Monday.
Booker, who has scored in double figures in 10 straight games, averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in leading Texas to a 2-0 week with wins against Kansas and on the road at Oklahoma State.
Against Oklahoma State, Booker had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and a career-high five steals.
Booker's 96 assists for the season rank eighth in UT program history on the freshman assist record list.
Against ranked opponents this season, Booker is averaging 20.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game.
This is the third Big 12 weekly honor for Booker this season. Booker has also earned National Freshman of the Week and National Player of the Week honors this season.
Texas hosts Oklahoma at Moody Center on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 6:00 p.m. CT.
