No. 9 Men's Swim & Dive completes competition against Duke

The Longhorns collected 12 unscored victories over the Blue Devils.
DURHAM, N.C. – No. 9 Texas Men's Swimming & Diving posted 12 unscored victories against Duke at the Taishoff Aquatic Center on Saturday.
Texas finished 1-2 on 1-meter with Nick Harris scoring 367.65 points to win it by less than a point over Noah Duperre's 367.05.
Aleksej Filipovic, Brayden Taivassalo, Sam Artmann and Cole Crane opened the swimming competition with a 1:27.06 in the 200 medley relay to collect the win.
Sasha Lyubavskiy followed as the lone swimmer in the 1000 free, touching the wall in 9:15.55.
The Horns finished 1-2-3 in the 200 free led by Nate Germonprez's season-best and B-cut of 1:34.98. Camden Taylor followed in 1:36.71 and Ethan Doehler finished third with a swim of 1:39.94.
Taivassalo added a victory in the 100 breast with a swim of 54.48, while Crane won the 200 fly in 1:46.32.
Luke Hobson swam a career-best in the 100 free, posting a B-cut of 19.69 to pick up the win with the fastest swim for a Longhorn this season.
Jake Foster notched the 11th-fastest 200 breast in the NCAA this season, winning with a time of 1:53.05.
Ryan Branon picked up a victory in the 100 fly with a mark of 48.18.
Manuel Borowski had a huge day on 3-meter, winning with a season-best 419.25 points. Duperre took second with 416.70 points and Harris totaled 402.15 points to place third.
UT added another 1-2 finish in the 200 IM with Will Scholtz winning it in 1:48.35 and Holden Smith taking second in 1:48.35.
Texas wrapped up the meet with a win in the 200 free relay as Hobson, Filipovic, Modglin and Camden Taylor posted a time of 1:17.94.
Team Notes
- Finn Winkler took third in the 100 back with a season-best swim of 49.40.
- Manning Haskal was the top finisher for UT in the 100 free, swimming 45.75 to place third.
- Texas had the top-four times in the 100 free, with Hobson's 19.69 followed by Will Modglin's 20.01, Filipovic's season-best 20.07 and Peter Paulus IV's 20.44.
- Logan Walker was the runner-up in the 200 back with a season-best of 1:46.99.
- Sasha Lyubavskiy touches the wall second in the 500 free in 4:31.22 and Andrew Zettle takes third in 4:34.39.
Next Up
The Longhorns will host TCU on Senior Day on Friday, Feb. 2 with Senior Day festivities get underway at 3:45 p.m. CT and racing at at 4 p.m. The teams will be racing on the long course in what will be legendary head coach Eddie Reese's final home dual meet.
