Women’s Tennis puts four into quarterfinals on day three of ITA Texas Regionals

The Longhorns had three singles players and one doubles pair reach the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Fort Worth – Texas Women's Tennis advanced three singles players and one doubles pair to the quarterfinals of the ITA Texas Regional Championships in Fort Worth on Saturday.
Junior No. 96 Vivian Ovrootsky, and freshmen No. 104 Ashton Bowers and Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo all moved on in singles, while the duo of Ovrootsky and Bowers did so in doubles.
The singles players won twice on the day to advance with Ovrootsky downing Raquel Caballero Chica of TCU, 6-1, 6-3, and Divna Ratkovic of Rice, 6-0, 6-2. Bowers defeated Isabel Pascual of TCU, 6-2, 6-3, followed by Na Dong of Baylor, 6-4, 6-4. Anazagasty-Pursoo completed the singles sweep with wins over Arina Oreshchenkova of Texas Tech, 6-0, 6-0, and Wehfei Yu of Baylor, 6-3, 6-7 (8), 6-4.
They will all take the court again Sunday at 10 a.m. CT with Ovrootsky taking on 6 seed No. 109 Santa Strombacha of Houston, Bowers facing 9 seed Liubov Kostenko of Baylor, and Anazagasty-Pursoo playing 9 seed Jade Otway of TCU.
In doubles, Ovrootsky and Bowers topped Saara Orav and Nithesa Selvaraj of Rice at 8-1, and will face 8 seed Avelina Sayfetdinova and Mariia Hlahola of Texas Tech on Sunday at 8 a.m. CT.
