Madison Booker ties for Preseason SEC Player of the Year.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas Women's Basketball team has been picked to finish second in the SEC by a vote of league and national media members, the Southeastern Conference announced on Monday.
Madison Booker tied for SEC Preseason Player of the Year and was selected to the Preseason All-SEC First Team. Rori Harmon was voted to the Preseason All-SEC Second Team.
South Carolina tops the order of finish, with Texas, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky rounding out the top half the league. Florida, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Auburn, Texas A&M, Georgia, Missouri and Arkansas round out the bottom half.
Madison Booker tied with LSU's Flau'Jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow for SEC Preseason Player of the Year. Booker was selected to the Preseason All-SEC First Team, while Rori Harmon made the Preseason All-SEC Second Team. There were seven players on the first team and six players recognized on the second team.
Booker earned Big 12 Player of the Year as a freshman in the 2023-24 season and was a WBCA First Team All-American as well as the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year. Rori Harmon played only 12 games last season, but was leading the country in assist to turnover ratio with 93 assists and 14 turnovers. Harmon is a two-time All-America honorable mention selection and the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
