No. 4 Women’s Basketball wins exhibition game over UT-Tyler, 98-25

AUSTIN, Texas — Four players scored in double figures as The University of Texas women's basketball team came away with a 98-25 victory over UT-Tyler in an exhibition game on Thursday night at Moody Center.
Taylor Jones led the way with 14 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Bryanna Preston contributed 13 points, six rebounds and four assists and Madison Booker tallied 12 points, five rebounds and two assists. Rori Harmon added 11 points and four assists and Kyla Oldacre registered 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Longhorns shot 51 percent from the field and limited UT-Tyler to 18 percent shooting. Texas forced the Patriots into 35 turnovers and converted 47 points off turnovers. The Longhorns controlled the boards with a 50-35 advantage and had 23 second chance points.
The Texas defense used a 17-0 run to jump out to a 27-8 lead and held UT-Tyler scoreless for over seven minutes of game time. The Longhorns limited UT-Tyler to single digits in every quarter of play.
Texas played their entire roster and 12 of their 14 players scored in the game. The Longhorns dished out 17 assists and tallied 13 steals and six blocked shots.
The Longhorns open the season on Sunday, Nov. 10 against Southeast Missouri State at Moody Center. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m. CT.
