Women’s Tennis receives two singles bids to 2024-25 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Freshmen Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo and Ashton Bowers earned spots in the first year for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships to be held in the fall.
Austin – Texas Women's Tennis received two singles bids to the 2024-25 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, the NCAA announced on Monday. Freshmen Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo and Ashton Bowers earned spots in the first year of the event being held in the fall.
Both qualified for their bids via the ITA Texas Regional Championships with Anazagasty-Pursoo winning the singles title, and Bowers finishing as runner-up. However, Bowers will not participate in the NCAA tournament due to an injury.
The NCAA selected the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams that will compete in the tournament through various qualifying criteria through the ITA All-American Championships, the ITA Regional Championships, the ITA Conference Masters, and the ITA Sectional Championships. This is year one of a two-year pilot for the singles and doubles championships to be conducted in the fall, with the team championships continuing to be in the spring.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted Nov. 19-24 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. Baylor University serves as host. Draws are scheduled to be released on Saturday, Nov. 16.
