• IT'S BEEN A WHILE: Texas will meet Syracuse on the hardwood for the first time since the 2003 NCAA Semifinals. Thursday's contest marks just the second all-time meeting between the two schools.
• STRENGTH IN NUMBERS: Texas has had at least five players in double-figure scoring in each of the last three contests. Through the first four games, seven Longhorns are averaging at least 6.5 ppg.
• NOT YOUR TYPICAL FRESHMAN: Freshman G Tre Johnson is averaging a team-best 23.5 ppg while converting 58.9-percent (33-56) from the floor, including a 58.6-percent (17-29) mark from three-point range, and 11-of-14 (.786) free throws this year. He has recorded at least 18 points in each of his first four collegiate contests.
