Women’s Tennis concludes play at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Texas freshman Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo fell in her first-round match on Tuesday.
Waco, Texas – Texas Women's Tennis concluded play at the 2024-25 NCAA Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships on Tuesday in Waco.
Freshman Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo fell in her first-round match to No. 26 Carson Tanguilig of North Carolina, 6-4, 6-3. Anazagasty-Pursoo picked up a break to open the match, however Tanguilig responded with a 4-0 run. Anazagasty-Pursoo held her next two serves on deuce points before getting the second break back to get within 5-4. She then held a 40-15 lead in the following game, but Tanguilig claimed the next three points for the set.
In the second set, Anazagasty-Pursoo broke for a 2-1 lead and consolidated it on deuce point for 3-1. However, Tanguilig went on a 5-0 run, including three-straight deuce-point wins from 3-3 to 5-3, before finishing on serve, 6-3.
