Longhorns end meet with four team records.
AUSTIN, Texas - The No.1 Texas men's swim program completed the final day of the Texas Invitational finishing first in every event final.
After breaking the 500 free American record and recording the second-fastest time in school history for the 400 IM over the past two days, Rex Maurer continued to win the 1650 freestyle with a time of 14:30.47, the second-fastest time in school history. David Johnston followed behind with a time of 14:35.42 to finish second.
Will Modglin won the 200 backstroke with his time of 1:37.84 to move to No. 3 on the all-time top performer list.
Camden Taylor added a 100 freestyle win to his name over the weekend with a time of 42.35 after winning the 200 free in 1:32.02.
Texas dominated the 200 breaststroke with Will Scholtz taking first with a time of 1:51.66 and Brayden Taivassalo behind in second with a time of 1:52.20. These times place Scholtz and Taivassalo as the No. 4 and No. 5 on the all-time best performer list, respectively.
Texas continued the momentum in the 200 butterfly with Logan Walker taking first with a time of 1:41.01 to move to No. 6 on the all-time best performer list. Junior Ryan Branon, Jr. finished as the runner-up with a time of 1:41.76, while Coby Carrozza (1:42.10) and Cooper Lucas (1:42.72) followed behind respectively, placing fourth and fifth.
The Longhorns finished the night dominating the 400 freestyle relay. The Texas 'B' team comprised of Modglin, Kobe Ndebele, Kyle Peck, and Coby Carrozza took first with a time of 2:49.67 with the Texas 'A' team right behind in second with Taylor, Luke Hobson, Nate Germonprez, and Maurer with 2:50.37. The Texas 'C' team with Garrett Gould, Michael Cotter, Jeremy Kelly, and Aleksej Filipovic finished fifth with a combined time of 2:52.69.
