Justice Carlton scores 30 points to power No. 5/4 Women’s Basketball to 94-59 win over Butler

Five players score in double figures for Texas.
ESTERO, Fla. — Freshman Justice Carlton scored 30 points on 12-of-15 shooting as she ignited the Texas women's basketball team to an 94-59 victory over Butler on Saturday in the Gulf Coast Showcase.
The Longhorns advance to the championship game of the Gulf Coast Showcase where they will meet No. 12/10 West Virginia tomorrow.
Rori Harmon filled the stat sheet with 13 points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals. Harmon moved into third on the Longhorns all-time list for career assists. She now has 541 career assists.
Aaliyah Moore, Bryanna Preston and Kayla Oldacre each scored 10 points for Texas. In all the Longhorns put in 13 players and had 59 points from their bench players.
Texas and West Virginia will meet tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. CT in the championship game of the Gulf Coast Showcase.
Postgame Notes:
- Texas improved to 6-0 on the season and 1-0 against Butler as the teams met for the first time.
- The Longhorns forced 29 turnovers from Butler and converted 39 points off turnovers.
- Texas shot 34-of-67 (50.7 percent) from the field.
- The Longhorns outrebounded Butler 41-22 and held a 21-9 advantage in second chance points.
- Carleton is the first Texas player to score 30 points in a game since Rori Harmon did it on 3/12/22 in the Big 12 Tournament against Iowa State. Carleton netted her 30 points in just 23 minutes of playing time.
- Five players scored in double figures for the Longhorns.
- The Longhorns have scored 83 or more points in each of their six games this season. They have a 42.7 point average margin of victory on the season.
