Madison Booker's 25 points lead Longhorns to 10th win of the season.
RICHMOND, Va. — Madison Booker scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Texas women's basketball team to a 65-54 win at RV Richmond on Sunday.
Taylor Jones contributed 10 points, five rebounds and two blocked shots. Rori Harmon tallied six points, seven assists and five rebounds. Aaliyah Moore had nine points and eight rebounds and Shay Holle recorded seven points, two assists and two blocked shots.
Booker sank a corner jumper off an inbounds pass to put Texas up 8-5 at the 5:25 mark of the first quarter. Booker had six points in the opening quarter for the Longhorns.
Late in the opening quarter the Longhorns got a pair of blocked shots from Taylor Jones and Shay Holle, the later of which turned into a steal by Rori Harmon and a layup by Aaliyah Moore. Texas closed the quarter on a 6-0 run and took a 20-11 lead.
Aaliyah Moore and Rori Harmon made back-to-back baskets to start the third quarter and extend the Texas lead to 37-23.
Booker went to work in the third quarter as she scored eight straight Texas points and the Longhorns carried a 53-36 lead into the fourth quarter.
Richmond got out to a strong start in the fourth quarter with an 11-4 run. The Longhorns responded with the next six points and came away with a 65-54 victory.
Up next the Longhorns host LaSalle on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Moody Center.

- Texas improved to 10-1 on the season and 2-0 all-time against Richmond.
- Madison Booker scored 25 points for her fifth 20-point game of the season and 19th 20-point game of her career. Booker has scored 20 or more points in three of her last four games.
