Beach Volleyball beats Nebraska at LBSU Tournament

The Longhorns picked up their first win of the season over the Huskers on Saturday.
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Texas Beach Volleyball picked up its first win of the Stein Metzger era, taking down Nebraska 3-2 on Saturday in the LBSU Tournament at Long Beach City College.
After coming up just short of the first win of the season against CSUN on Friday, the Longhorns took down the Cornhuskers in their first match on Saturday. Texas also came up just short of beating No. 11 Arizona State in Saturday's finale.
Against Nebraska on Court No. 1, Emma Grace Robertson and Ava Patton gave Texas an early lead. Hannah Ogden and Presley Wright took care of business on Court No. 3 before Kelly McCloskey and Macey Butler clinched the win at No. 4.
With wins over the Sun Devils as well, the Longhorn duos of McCloskey/Butler and Ogden/Wright each picked up three wins during the weekend, both going 3-1 over the four matches.
The Longhorns will prepare to host their first ever home matches on Wednesday, March 20, starting at 11 a.m. at the Berry M. Whitaker Sports Complex. Washington and Houston Christian will kick things off at 11 a.m. followed by Texas vs. Houston Christian at 1:30 p.m. The event concludes with Texas hosting Washington at 4 p.m.
