AUSTIN, Texas – Together with Truist, congratulations to March's Hook 'Em's Community Heroes: from Women's Track & Field, Brighton Mooney, and from Men's Track & Field, Caleb Cavanaugh.
Brighton is passionate about providing children with positive mentors that are able to make a difference in their lives.
"I believe that our youth is the future and there's a lot of disconnect in the community between role models and children. Being able to connect with kids and let them know they are seen and heard is something I'm very passionate about. If I can make a difference in a kid's life by simply talking and connecting with them for a little while, then I feel like I've made a difference in not only their future but the future of the community."
Caleb uses the resources he's been given to support efforts of healthcare access and education in his community.
"I've always had an interest in healthcare, and learning that not everyone has equal access to such healthcare stuck with me. I love being able to use the opportunities and resources given to me to ensure people in my community receive proper healthcare and education."
In recognition of their causes, Truist is proud to donate $500 each to organizations that provide support for youth mentoring and access to healthcare.
