AUSTIN, Texas – Together with Truist, congratulations to January's Hook 'Em's Community Heroes: from Women's Tennis, Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo, and from Men's Tennis, Lucas Brown.
Ariana's experiences in youth sports have shaped her into the student-athlete she is today, and she is looking to create the opportunity for future children to pursue sports as well.
"Youth sports hold a special place in my heart because of the role it played in shaping who I am today. Growing up, sports taught me more than just how to play a game. It taught me discipline, confidence, teamwork, and how to connect with others. Through sports, I was given opportunities and experiences that helped me grow both on and off the field. Because of that, I truly believe every child deserves the chance to have that same outlet, to express themselves, build character, and discover their potential."
Lucas is using his platform to advocate for better food security measures in his local community.
"Having access to reliable, healthy food is essential. Too many people live their lives not knowing if they can afford their next meal or feed their families. It bears a physical and mental toll; by contributing to food security, those in need can have this weight lifted off their chest."
In recognition of their causes, Truist is proud to donate $500 each to organizations that provide support for food security and youth sports. For more information on Hook 'Em's Community Heroes, together with Truist, visit texaslonghorns.com/feature/TruistCares.
