AUSTIN, Texas – Together with Truist, congratulations to March's Hook 'Em's Community Heroes: from Women's Track & Field, Ki Rendon, and from Men's Track & Field, Hudson Bennett.
Ki is proud support organizations that are helping eliminate food desserts, creating safe, healthy food options that are available for everyone regardless of their circumstances.
"I am passionate about addressing food deserts and expanding access to healthy, nutritious foods in all communities, regardless of income or zip code. I believe access to fresh food is a necessity, not a privilege. Access to nutritious options not only fights hunger, but also empowers healthier, more stable lifestyles. Through community advocacy and service, I am committed to advancing food access equity and creating healthier communities for all."
Hudson is using his platform to advocate for support for victims of domestic abuse. He wants to ensure they are taken care of and have a safe space to overcome their struggles.
"I would like to support domestic abuse support organizations because I believe no one should feel unsafe, unwanted, or unloved in their own home. Helping this cause means more individuals are provided with the support that everyone should receive."
In recognition of their causes, Truist is proud to donate $500 each to organizations that provide support for food insecurity and domestic abuse support. For more information on Hook 'Em's Community Heroes, together with Truist, visit texaslonghorns.com/TruistCares
