No. 6/6 Women’s Basketball advances in Big 12 Championship with 76-60 win over Kansas

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Texas women's basketball team outscored Kansas 28-17 in the fourth quarter and pulled away for a 76-60 victory in the quarterfinal of the Big 12 Women's Championship on Saturday at T-Mobile Center.
Madison Booker scored in double figures for the 21st straight game and her 12th game scoring 20 or more points with 21 points. Booker added seven assists and five rebounds.
Aaliyah Moore notched her third double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Taylor Jones added 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting and seven rebounds. Shay Holle scored eight of her 10 points in a stretch of one minute and 10 seconds in the fourth quarter.
Holle knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and a shot in the lane to give the Longhorns momentum in the final period. Her 3-point basket at the 8:40 mark put Texas up 56-47.
The Longhorns (28-4) used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to go up 17-7 and led 19-12 at the end of the opening period.
Kansas kept the game close with Texas taking a 48-43 lead into the fourth quarter. Holle scored the first eight points of the quarter for Texas. The Longhorns connected on 8-of-12 from the field in the final period to extend their lead and pull away from Kansas late in the game.
Up next Texas will take on the winner of No. 3 seed Kansas State and No. 6 seed West Virginia in the semifinals on Monday, March 11 at 4:00 p.m. CT.
