March’s Hook ‘Em’s Community Heroes: featuring Lebarron Johnson Jr., Baseball, and Alyssa Washington, Softball
AUSTIN, Texas – Together with Truist, congratulations to May's Hook 'Em's Community Heroes: from Softball, Alyssa Washington, and from Baseball, Lebarron Johnson Jr.
Alyssa's experiences with sports have given her a path to achieve her dreams, and she wants to be able to provide that for others.
"Expanding opportunities to sports for kids is something I find incredibly important. By providing the experience sports gives, kids are able to reach their dreams."
Lebarron recognizes the impact help can have on the homeless and is fighting to provide support for them, especially foster youth.
"I am passionate about helping the homeless, especially homeless youth aging out of foster care. This matters to me as homelessness is a prevalent issue within our society. Sometimes homelessness isn't by choice and people who experience it just need help getting on their feet. Young foster kids who age out of foster care are forced into homelessness which makes it tough for them to get on their feet."
In recognition of their causes, Truist is proud to donate $500 each to organizations that provide support for youth sports and fighting homelessness.
