Men's Track and Field finishes 12th at NCAA Outdoor Championships

The Longhorns' relays scored seven points on Friday night.
EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 7 men's track and field program finished 12th at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships after scoring 20 points.
The Longhorns were led by Leo Neugebauer after scoring 10 points winning the decathlon with a collegiate record score of 8,961 points. Neugebauer also finished 20th in the discus with a throw of 54.41m (178-6) to earn USTFCCCA Honorable Mention.
On the track, Yusuf Bizimana was sixth in the 800-meter dash finishing with a time of 1:46.37. Bizimana is now a seven-time All-American in the 800m and six-time First Team. Bizimana's finish gave the Longhorns three team points.
The men's 4x100-meter relay of Marcellus Moore, Nolton Shelvin, Almond Small and John Rutledge finished fifth with a time of 38.99. The group scored four team points, and all earned First Team All-America honors.
Elijah Mosley, Logan Popelka, John Rutledge and Brian Herron finished as First Team All-Americans after finishing sixth in 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:01.41. The time ranks as the fourth-fastest time in school history.
