Longhorn Nation,
What a spectacular weekend it was for Texas Longhorns Athletics and a memorable night in DKR After Dark on Saturday. Longhorn Nation, HOLY COW did y'all show up in full force and deliver your awesome Texas Fight all the livelong day! Our iconic stadium celebrating its 100th Anniversary welcomed in the fifth-largest crowd ever (102,850) and the roar of the burnt orange faithful echoed throughout the stadium from pregame, to toe-to-leather and through The Eyes of Texas with Coach Sark and our squad after delivering another emphatic home victory! It was an electrifying scene, my friends, as the best fans in the land brought it big time through thrilling play after thrilling play, an incredible light show and a serenade of Texas Fights. We're 4-0, your unwavering support is such a vital part of our success and TOGETHER we're pushing us to new heights!

Coach Sark opened his press conference after the game with a shoutout to you and I echo his sentiments. "First of all, what a great night at DKR. I think that was fifth-largest crowd ever in the history of the stadium, our largest crowd of the season. I think it just speaks volumes to the support that we get from our fans. It was an awesome atmosphere, and the players felt it. I mean, the students didn't leave, so many of our fans stayed all the way to The Eyes. That was really cool, and I appreciate Longhorn Nation for all the support."
The action on the field kept us fired up throughout! Our guy Jaydon was back giving opponents the Blue's in stampeding to a 100-yard rushing game and four total touchdowns, Arch was steady filling in for Quinn, and man was that stifling, aggressive and lockdown defense making it miserable for another foe. Our stellar offense rolled up nearly 500 yards of offense and held the Warhawks to just over 100 (including a safety!). It's been a Burnt Orange brick wall to the endzone as our Horns' D has allowed just 22 points through four games — the fewest in the first four games at Texas since 1977 (21 points) — and you have to go all the way back to 1959 (6 points) to find better than our 10 points allowed through the first three home games. With y'all charging up the house, our Horns have hung half a hundred in each of our three home games this year. How about that for total team efforts?!

What a weekend it was with our Texas Athletics Hall of Honor induction ceremony where we celebrated the best to ever wear the Burnt Orange and White! This group's excellence during their time and beyond remain a benchmark to our aspiring student-athletes. They truly exemplify everything that is great about our institution and continue to be great representatives of our University. What a joy it was to pay tribute to each and every one of them on Friday night and on the field Saturday as well!

Now we head into a historic week as our first-ever Southeastern Conference game commences with Mississippi State in town (3:15 p.m. CT/SEC Network). It will be our No. 1-ranked Horns for the second straight week (19-straight weeks in the Top 10!) hosting the Bulldogs at DKR-TMS. SEC action heats up across several sports as we've got a pair of rivalry renewals with our top-25-ranked Volleyball and Soccer programs competing against Texas A&M this weekend. So, let's mark those calendars for Friday and Sunday — bracketing Football — get your Burnt Orange & White-best ready and join us in College Station (Friday) and Mike A. Myers Stadium (Sunday) for what promises to be an incredible environment on both nights. We need y'all loud and proud and bringing your TEXAS FIGHT!
Soccer's first-ever SEC competition ended with a hard-fought, gutsy 2-2 tie against Alabama at home on Thursday and followed that up with a tightly-contested 1-0 loss at No. 24 Mississippi State on Sunday. Next up, we travel to Ole Miss on Thursday (6 p.m. CT/SEC Network) before returning home to take on our rivals from Texas A&M in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown on Sunday (6 p.m. CT/SEC Network+). Volleyball's season is moving along too, as our season heads into SEC play with a foray into its Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown at Texas A&M on Friday (6:30 p.m. CT/SEC Network+) before traveling down to Baton Rouge for a match at LSU on Sunday (2 p.m. CT/SEC Network).
let's have some fun this week, y'all 🤘#HookEm | @seatgeek pic.twitter.com/kM9GhC7sgX

Coach Ianello has our Horns off and running in her first year on the Forty, as No. 4 Women's Golf posted our third-best tournament score in program history en route to capturing the Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday at Vanderbilt. Farah O'Keefe and Lauren Kim led the way, both carding 11-under-par over the 54-hole tournament to finish tied for third overall. Way to go, Ladies!

While I've got you, check out these incredible stories on the Big Guy, Bevo XV and the team behind our team from our crew at LHN. Our staff is generating wonderful content and so many must-watch programs, events and feature stories. Can't thank our team enough for the yeoman's job they're doing and sure hope you're enjoying it as much as I am!
Oh, and here's a shoutout to our guy Bob Bowman who was tabbed one of the 50 most influential figures in sports. We're so blessed to have him in the Burnt Orange & White. He's the absolute best!

And in closing, let's get those Horns up for Longhorn Legend and NFL great Phil Dawson on his induction into the 2024 Class of Browns Legends. A member of the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor and one of the greatest kickers ever, Phil is a Hall of Famer in every way, such a wonderful representative of our great university and what a well-deserving honor this is. Congratulations, my friend!
Officially can't say the name Phil Dawson without Browns Legend after it.

Here's to all the success and unwavering support from the absolute best fans in the world!
Football gives ULM the Blues
What a night we had, as Coach Sark and our lads closed out non-conference play with a perfect 4-0 mark in dominating fashion with a 51-3 win over ULM. Just like the team, y'all showed up and showed out from start to finish in this last game before we OFFICIALLY play our first Southeastern Conference game. How exciting for it to finally be here! Inside and out, the Burnt Orange energy was shining bright, and we couldn't have had a better night. Like I said earlier, as much as we love our Longhorn City Limits, we were groovin' to the "Blues" DURING the game as Jaydon went off for a career night (to this point). He had, count 'em – FOUR touchdowns – and he was delivering on the ground and through the air with three and one, respectively. That's just the fifth time in the last 10 years we've had a player score four, not to mention he had a career high 124 rushing yards! Way to go, Jaydon! And he's a perfect example of what I love about this team. The next day after watching film, this young man goes up to Coach Sark and tells him how much better he could have played! Love that! Also, Arch made his first career start and was slingin' it down the field to 007, Wingo, Cook and Golden and Bolden (BTW, I love that we have a pair of receivers named Golden and Bolden, ha!) And, oh boy, has that defense has been as stifling as Texas humidity! In giving up just three points to the Warhawks, that's just 22 ALL SEASON! To see Anthony Hill return that INT for a touchdown and the celebration the whole team had afterward was just sensational (and yes, I know there was a penalty, but I'm counting it in my book). And then another example of the young talent on this team, Liona Lefau came flying through the middle for that safety, whoa! I don't think Shane Victorino will have an issue if I call Liona our own "Flyin' Hawaiian" because he looked like he was shot out of Smokey on that one! And I gotta tell you, our guy Quinn may have been on the sidelines getting healthy, but he was definitely in…the…game! I was ready to run through a wall after this, and that's how we need all of Longhorn Nation coming up this Saturday against Mississippi State (3:15 p.m. CT/SEC Network) in our first ever SEC game! We'll see you there!
Start the week off right

Volleyball set to begin SEC play!
Coach Elliott and our No. 8 Volleyball team took care of business in the final non-conference matches of the season, and we're so excited to see the Longhorns head into SEC play this week! Our ladies were looking to bounce back last week and they did it in a big way, sweeping then-No. 20 Baylor in Waco on Wednesday. Then back at home on Friday night, Texas took care of Hawaii in front of yet another sold-out crowd inside The Greg! It was a special night for our Flyin' Hawaiian Devin Kahahawai, who posted a career-high 12 kills against the team she grew up watching in the Aloha State. Now it's time to usher in a new era with SEC play this weekend! The Longhorns head on the road for the first Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown against Texas A&M in College Station on Friday (6:30 p.m. CT/SEC Network+) before traveling to LSU for a Sunday afternoon match (2 p.m. CT/SEC Network).

Soccer battles in first week of SEC action
It was a tough opening week in the SEC for our ladies on the pitch, as we came away with just one point in the league standings during our first two conference matches. The Longhorns opened league play with a 2-2 tie against Alabama at home last Thursday, highlighted by this goal from our emerging freshman star Amalia Villarreal. After dropping a tough 1-0 decision at No. 24 Mississippi State on Sunday night, Coach Kelly and our ladies return to the Magnolia State to face Ole Miss in Oxford on Thursday (6 p.m. CT/SEC Network). Longhorn Nation, I know you'll join me at Mike A. Myers Stadium when we play host to Texas A&M on Sunday (6 p.m. CT/SEC Network+). Let's pack the house and get a win during the first head-to-head competition of the 2024-25 athletics season in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown!

Women's Golf captures Mason Rudolph championship!
Our ladies got it done in a big way over the weekend, as they won the Mason Rudolph Championship in Tennessee. Congrats to the team and Coach Ianello on her first win at Texas. Our No. 4 Longhorns shot an impressive team score of 31-under-par over the three rounds. Wow! THIRTY-ONE under par! And how about this nugget, the team score of 31-under-par is the third-best 54-hole performance in program history. Sophomores Farah O'Keefe and Lauren Kim each posted 54-hole totals of 11-under-par to tie for third place in the individual standings. Next up, the ladies will compete on Oct. 8-9 at the NB3 MatchPlay in Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M.
Men's Golf posts solid showing against elite field at OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational
Our No. 8 Men's Golf team continued its solid start to the 2024-25 season with a fifth-place showing at the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational at historic Olympia Fields over the weekend. The tournament's elite 15-team field featured 12 squads in the latest top 25, including five in the top 10. Our junior trio of Christiaan Maas (tie for third, 7-under 203), Luke Potter (tie for sixth, 3-under 207) and Tommy Morrison (tie for 11th, 2-under 208) all finished among the top 11 on the individual leaderboard. If you are up in the Metroplex, make plans now to support Coach Fields and the guys when they compete at the Ben Hogan Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 (Monday-Tuesday) at Fort Worth's legendary Colonial Country Club.
