AUSTIN, Texas – Together with Truist, congratulations to September's Hook 'Em's Community Heroes: from Soccer, Breana Thompson, and from Football, Hayden Conner.
Breana recognizes the housing issue in our community and is striving to improve the situation for the unhoused.
"The unhoused population in America is growing more rapidly everyday with the rise of prices in our economy. In Austin we see the drastic effect this crisis is having on our community. I hope to start locally to make a positive impact on those who need our help, and do my part to create a sustainable life for them."
Hayden has been volunteering at local animal shelters since he was a kid, and is looking to continue volunteering in the future.
"Volunteering and giving back to my community has always been such a big part of my life from a young age. As I have gotten older, animal welfare has become an issue I care the most about. I'm helping tackle the current shelter crisis and promote an Adopt, Don't Shop narrative. Through raising donations, we can benefit local shelters and highlight the animals in need of adoption and fostering."
In recognition of their causes, Truist is proud to donate $500 each to organizations that provide support for homelessness relief and animal welfare.
