Eva Okaro sets team record in 100 free as Longhorns dominate home dual.
AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 2 Texas Women's Swimming and Diving team won 10 events in Friday morning's dual meet against No. 4 Tennessee at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Texas opened the session with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Eva Okaro, Erin Gemmell, Lillian Nesty and Lucy Mehraban combined for a time of 1:27.13.
Jillian Cox led a Longhorn sweep in the 1000 freestyle (9:26.11), followed by Kate Hurst (9:41.93) and Inez Miller (9:51.64). Lillian Nesty also added a win in the 200 backstroke (1:52.81),.
Okaro captured the 100 freestyle (47.06), while setting a Texas team record in the event. This is the freshman's second record in as many meets.
Campbell Stoll picked up victories in both the 200 butterfly (1:52.25) and the 400 individual medley (4:04.49). Piper Enge put points on the board when she won the 200 breaststroke (2:09.10), with teammate Avery Collins placing third (2:12.17).
The Longhorns closed out the session with a win in the 400 medley relay, as Emma Kern, Enge, Stoll and Okaro posted a time of 3:28.97.
In diving, Bayleigh Cranford swept both the 1-meter (301.50) and 3-meter (356.48) events, while Sarah Carruthers added a fourth-place 3-meter finish (316.13).
Up next, Texas will host its Diving Invitational at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Nov. 13.
