Trio led Longhorns to home-opening victory over No. 4 Tennessee
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Longhorns standouts Campbell Stoll, Nikolett Padar and diver Bayleigh Cranford garnered Southeastern Conference weekly honors, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Stoll earned SEC Swimmer of the Week distinction, while Cranford earned SEC Diver of the Week plaudits. Meanwhile, Padar was tabbed SEC Freshman of the Week.
A native of Hartland, Wisconsin, Stoll tallied 29 points in No. 2 Texas' 135–51 victory over No. 4 Tennessee. The junior recorded a season-best 1:52.25 in the 200-yard butterfly, marking her second win in the event this year. Stoll also contributed to capturing the 400-yard individual medley with a split time of 50.73.
Cranford continued her strong start to the season, notching 18 points in the win over the Lady Volunteers. The Lexington, N.C., native swept the diving events for the second consecutive dual meet, taking home the 1-meter (301.50) and 3-meter (356.48) boards. The junior's 3-meter score marked a season best.
A freshman from Szeged, Hungary, Padar mounted five points in the Longhorns' victory. Padar placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:16.45, fourth in the 100-yard freestyle (48.50) and fifth in the 400-yard individual medley (22.38-split).
The Longhorns resume competition Nov. 13-15 for the Texas Diving Invitational at the Joe and Lee Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Prelims are set for 10 a.m., with finals to follow at 6:00 p.m. CT.
