AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Athletics announced today the launch of "Texas & Os," a first of its kind syndicated talk show featuring engaging one-on-one interviews with student-athletes and Longhorn sports personalities. The show will be available over-the-air on television stations throughout the state of Texas and across Texas Athletics' digital channels for global reach for fans.
A play on the Xs and Os associated with sports strategy, "Texas & Os", steps away from game analysis and delivers a variety talk show format that spotlights University of Texas student-athletes and coaches beyond the game in a mix of sports, lifestyle, and entertainment.
Developed and produced in collaboration with Longhorn Sports Properties, a division of college media and technology leader Learfield, each episode of Texas & Os gives fans a front-row seat to the people behind the jerseys and on the sidelines. With a mix of humor, fast-paced segments, and in-depth interviews, each episode of the show provides a platform for Longhorns to showcase their personalities, personal journeys, and aspirations.
"We're excited to have Texas & Os bring to life the authentic stories of our student-athletes and coaches in a way that emotionally connects them to the fan base as people," said Lucas Motta, Vice President of Longhorn Sports Properties. "We're reaching fans where they are, through a syndicated show available across linear TV throughout the state, the Longhorn Network, and the LHN podcast. This platform connects our student-athletes and sponsors to fans in a way that's rarely seen in college sports today."
Longtime Austin marketing and media executive Nick Shuley will host "Texas & Os," bringing his more than two decades of experience working with some of the world's most iconic brands, athletes, musicians, and events to the show. Shuley, the co-creator of the weekly football show 3rd and Longhorn and originator of the flagship basketball show brUTherhood for Texas Athletics, will combine his knowledge and passion for Texas sports with his connections in arts and entertainment to provide a show like no other for Longhorns fans.
"We are committed to expanding the reach and brand visibility of Texas Athletics, our student-athletes, and our 21 championship-caliber sports programs through innovative media and fan engagement platforms, and the new Texas & Os show is a next-level step in our offerings," executive senior associate athletics director Drew Martin said. "Building on our Texas Studios presented by Dell Technologies and our Longhorn Network digital platforms and working with expert partners in media like Learfield and Nick Shuley, we will be able to deliver unique programming to Longhorn fans everywhere through syndicated traditional television throughout the state of Texas and the global reach of our leading LHN digital channels and podcasts."
Filmed and distributed by Clark Field Creative, in conjunction with RVRBND Productions, "Texas & Os" will be syndicated across the entire state to local television stations in markets including Austin, Brownsville/Harlingen, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, Waco, and more. Fans should check local listings for the times and coverage on television channels in their areas. Additionally, the show will be carried digitally on the Longhorn Network (LHN) website and app. An audio version of the show will be available via the Longhorn Network podcast across Apple and Android podcast platforms.
