Texas will host SMU in Austin in March.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Rowing head coach Dave O'Neill has announced the complete 2025-26 schedule, which features one date to catch the Longhorns in action in Austin. Texas has won three of the last five NCAA Championships and has notched eight-consecutive top-four finishes at the national regatta.
The Longhorns will compete in two fall events, beginning with the Waco Rowing Regatta at 8 a.m. CT Sunday, Oct. 12, at Brazos Park East in Waco, Texas. Texas will close out its fall slate at SMU on Sunday, Nov. 16.
Texas will open its spring schedule by hosting SMU in Austin for a rust-buster in March. An official date and schedule of events will be communicated at a later date.
Following SMU, the Longhorns will head to the San Diego Crew Classic on March 28-29, which is regarded as America's premier spring regatta. Racing is held in Mission Bay Park on the shores of Fiesta Bay-Crown Point. At last year's San Diego Crew Classic, UT won three grand finals and finished runner-up in a fourth race.
Up next, Texas will embark on a three-regatta road stretch beginning with a tussle against Indiana on Thursday, April 9, in Bloomington, Ind. It'll be the first time the Longhorns will go head-to-head against the Hoosiers and UT's first trip to Bloomington.
The Longhorns will then travel north to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, April 11. It will be the sixth-consecutive year Texas and Michigan meet during the regular season. UT will travel to Michigan for the fourth time overall and first time since the 2024 season.
UT will close out the regular season on the road at Stanford on Saturday, April 25, in Palo Alto, Calif. Either Texas or Stanford has won each of the last five NCAA titles with UT leading the way with three championships. The Longhorns took home national titles in 2021, 2022 and 2024 while the Cardinal won in 2023 and 2025. It'll be Texas' first trip to Palo Alto and marks the third-consecutive season the programs have met during the regular season.
The 2025 SEC Championship is set for Sunday, May 10. Information about the SEC Championship, including the location and race schedule, will be released by the conference office at a later date. Texas won the first-ever SEC Rowing Championship in 2025. Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee will be competing against the Longhorns.
The 2026 NCAA Championships are slated for May 29-31 in Lake Lanier, Ga. Last season, UT concluded the national regatta with a third-place finish, claiming the program's eighth-straight top-four finish. Texas has finished inside the top-three in six of the last seven national meets, including three national titles, under head coach Dave O'Neill.
Remaining start times and other information will be announced at a later date.
