No. 4 Women’s Basketball gets past Louisiana, 100-38

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 4 Texas (3-0) had 45 bench points as they secured a 100-38 win over Louisiana (0-3) Monday at Moody Center. The win was the 27th straight victory for the Longhorns at Moody Center.
Texas saw 11 players score in a dominant offensive effort, led by Kyla Oldacre's 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting and seven rebounds. Rori Harmon added 12 points and five assists, while Justice Carlton chipped in 13 off the bench. Aaliyah Crump and Teya Sidberry added 11 and 10 points, respectively, and Breya Cunningham recorded nine points and 14 rebounds as the Longhorns shot 59.1% from the field.
Texas finished the first period outscoring the Ragin' Cajuns 30-9 after going on a 21-2 run over the final 6:54. The Longhorns showcased their defensive prowess by forcing 10 turnovers and drawing nine fouls. Forwards Madison Booker and Oldacre combined for 17 points.
Oldacre led the Longhorns in scoring with 15 points, contributing to Texas' 49-15 advantage. Other leaders included Cunningham with six rebounds, Booker with four assists and Harmon with four rebounds and three assists. Texas finished the half with 11 steals and 20 rebounds while forcing the Ragin' Cajuns into 22 turnovers.
Early in the fourth quarter, Sidberry scored her 1000th career point after earning two shots at the free throw line. Texas proceeded to close out the game with 39 rebounds and a 59.1 field goal percentage against Louisiana's 28.6 percent. Grace Prenter landed the final points for the Longhorns, extending the score 100-38.
