Men's Cross Country trio earns All-South Central Region honors

Texas concludes season at the regional meet with fifth and eighth-place finishes.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Texas cross country programs concluded the 2025 season at the NCAA South Central Regionals with the men finishing fifth in the 10K and the women eighth in the 6K.
The Longhorn men were led by freshman Aidan Torres who ran his first collegiate 10K in 30:16.8 to finish 15th overall. The freshman had a standout season leading Texas as the top finisher in four meets. Senior Hudson Heikkinen (30:29.2) and junior Hudson Bennett (30:30.7) finished 20th and 22nd, respectively. The trio earned South Central Region honors by finishing in the top 25.
Graduate transfer Trey Rios was fourth for Texas in 32nd with his time of 31:11.2, while freshman Joaquin de la Cruz was right behind in 31:12.6 to secure the fifth-place team finish. The Longhorns finished with 118 points.
On the women's side, senior Natasja Beijen led the Longhorns with her 34th-place finish in the 6k with a season best time of 21:25.1. She was followed by fellow senior Elizabeth Pickett who crossed the line in 21:39.9 in 39th place. Sophomore Isabel Conde De Frankenberg set a new personal best time of 21:36.6 to place 42nd overall. Senior Brighton Mooney and junior Aishling Callanan finished 47th and 49th overall with times of 21:47.0 and 21:54.2, respectively. Graduate Anna Christie (22:02.2) and sophomore Kaylin Rendon (22:18.5) were the final Horns to score for Texas.
The women scored 204 points to close out their season.
