No. 2 Women’s Swim and Dive demolishes several school and meet records, wins three events on third day of SEC Championships

The Longhorns remain in the driver’s seat following the third day of the 2025 SEC Championships.
ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 2 Texas Women's Swim and Dive team remains in the driver's seat after the third day of the 2025 SEC Championships thanks to three event victories in the 200 free relay, 500 free and 200 IM. Texas leads on the women's side after racking up 677 total points through 15 events.
Tennessee (2nd-381), Florida (3rd-369), Georgia (4th-322.5), South Carolina (5th-273), Texas A&M (6th-268), LSU (7th-236), Alabama (8th-236), Auburn (9th-180.5), Missouri (10th-177), Kentucky (11th-163), Arkansas (12th-135) and Vanderbilt (13th-86) follow.
The Horns inaugurated the evening finals session with an SEC Championship and new school record in the 200 free relay. Grace Cooper, Emma Sticklen, Abby Arens and Ava Longi finished in 1:25.90 to best their previous school record of 1:25.92 they set on Nov. 20, 2024.
In the 500 free A Final, Jillian Cox dismantled the SEC Championships record after taking home gold in 4:31.54. The previous record of 4:33.10 was set by Georgia's Brittany MacLean in 2016. Also competing in the A Final, Erin Gemmell placed seventh with a time of 4:39.29.
Texas took the top two spots on the podium in the 200 IM with Emma Sticklen adding to her medal count after breaking the school record and touching the wall in 1:52.42. Campbell Stoll recorded a second-place finish and set a season-best time of 1:53.37 and Campbell Chase placed eighth after clocking in at 1:56.22. Sticklen lowered the school record which was previously owned by Madisyn Cox (1:52.58-2017).
Grace Cooper built onto her medal count after garnering a bronze in the 50 free in 21.83. Ava Longi also hauled in an eighth-place finish after clocking in at 22.15.
Texas sent an SEC-best four Longhorns to the 3-meter final to culminate the night. Freshman Alejandra Estudillo Torres finished runner-up with a final score of 369.50 to earn her first SEC medal and senior Hailey Hernandez finished third with a score of 335.05, increasing her medal count to two on the week. Bayleigh Cranford finished fourth (331.80) and Caroline Kupka placed eighth (304.5), respectively.

The 2025 SEC Championships continue at 8:30 a.m. CT Thursday with the prelims for the 400 IM, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle. On the diving side, the men's 1-meter prelims will begin at 11 a.m. followed by the consolation final at 1:10 p.m. Thursday night's finals session will get under way at 4:30 p.m. for the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and men's one meter. All sessions can be streamed live on SEC Network+.
