No. 2 Women’s Swim and Dive’s Gemmell and Sticklen crush several school records, Horns claim four medals on day four of SEC Championships

Erin Gemmell and Emma Sticklen smash school records in the 200 free and 100 butterfly Thursday night while the Longhorns hold onto their colossal lead at the SEC Championships.
ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 2 Texas Women's Swim and Dive Team captured four medals highlighted by new school records set by Erin Gemmell and Emma Sticklen Thursday night at the SEC Championships. In addition, Texas holds a monumental lead through the fourth day of the conference meet.
The Longhorns remain in control through 20 events with 888.5 total points. Florida is in second with 576 points followed by Tennessee (3rd-556), Georgia (4th-441.5), Texas A&M (5th-347), South Carolina (6th-344), LSU (7th-308), Alabama (8th-289), Auburn (9th-242.5), Missouri (10th-208.5), Kentucky (11th-166), Arkansas (12th-146) and Vanderbilt (13th-89).
Opening Thursday's finals session, sophomore Campbell Stoll met the NCAA 'A' cut standard and earned a spot on the podium after finishing third in the 400 IM in a season-best 4:03.11. It's her second individual medal of the meet after recording a runner-up finish in the 200 IM Wednesday.
Emma Sticklen continued to dazzle and won the 100 fly while lowering her own school-record time to 49.90. Sticklen, who dominated from start-to-finish, was also joined on the podium by third-place Abby Arens (51.21). It marks the second-straight year in which Sticklen has won a conference title in the event after taking home the Big 12 crown in 2024. It was Sticklen's fourth gold medal of the meet (second individual). Olivia Bray also collected a fourth-place finish at 51.28.
Erin Gemmell etched her name into the program record book after tallying a school record time of 1:42.32 in the 200 free to finish runner-up. The previous school record was set by Kelly Pash in 2022 (1:42.38). Also competing in the A Final was freshman Lillie Nesty, who claimed fourth at 1:43.63.
