Reid becomes second Longhorn to be inducted into USTFCCCA HOF
AUSTIN, Texas – Suziann Reid has been selected as one of twelve athletes to be inducted into the USTFCCCA Collegiate Athlete Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Reid was a 17-time All-American for the Longhorns and a 10-time NCAA Champion in her time from 1996-1999. In her time on the Forty Acres, Reid was a part of 14 Texas records and was a nine-time Big 12 conference champion.
As one of the most dominant quarter miler of her time, the All-American earned her honors in the 200-meter, 400-meter and the 4x400-meter relay. She still ranks in the top-10 of UT's All-Time indoor and outdoor performers.
Among her individual awards, Reid was part of the most dominant groups of Longhorns that swept the 1998 and 1999 indoor and outdoor NCAA team titles. Her success was rewarded with the 1998-89 Honda Broderick Award for the top Track and Field Athlete of the Year, was named the 1998-99 USTFCCCA Indoor Athlete of the Year and was the 98-99 Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year.
Her collegiate career set her up for global success. Reid ran the first leg of the silver medal 4x400 relay at the 1999 World Championships for Team USA. She also added USA national titles in the 400m in 2000 and 2001 and an outdoor 400m title.
Reid was also inducted into the Texas Hall of Honor in 2008.
