No. 2 Women’s Swim and Dive’s Bray, Nesty earn SEC weekly honors

The duo each received their first career SEC weekly honors.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Women's Swim and Dive's Olivia Bray and Lillie Nesty earned their first career SEC weekly honors, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon. Bray was named the conference's Swimmer of the Week while Nesty picked up the Freshman of the Week honor.
Bray and Nesty helped the Longhorns finish the regular season 7-1 in dual meets after recording a decisive 197-102 victory over No. 19 Texas A&M on Jan. 31.
Bray, a graduate student from Daleville, Va., claimed five podium finishes over two meets to conclude the regular-season schedule for the Longhorns. In the win over No. 19 Texas A&M, Bray won the 200 fly with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:52.68. She was also led off the winning 400 medley relay (3:29.73/51.56) and swam the anchor leg of the second-place 200 free relay (1:28.65/22.21). At the Sterkel Classic on Feb. 1, Bray clocked in a pair of NCAA B-cut times to win the 200 free with a season-best time of 1:46.75 and the 200 back with a time of 1:53.31.
Nesty, a native of Gainesville, Fla., took first place in the 1000 free with a time of 9:35.01, the 11th-fastest time in program history, vs. Texas A&M. She also placed third in the 100 fly with an NCAA B-cut time of 52.62 and swam the third leg of the 200 free relay that finished second (1:28.65/22.06) against the Aggies.
The Longhorns are back in action on Feb. 17-22 at the 2025 SEC Championships at Gabrielsen Natatorium in Athens, Ga.
