Madison Booker scores 1,000th career point in Texas victory.
AUSTIN, Texas — Madison Booker became the 49th member of the Texas women's basketball 1,000-point club as she led four players in double figures in an 87-66 win over No. 24/24 Vanderbilt on Thursday. The win was the sixth ranked victory of the season for the Longhorns.
Four Longhorns scored in double digits with Booker leading with 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Holle added 16 points to the board and Jordan Lee contributed 12 points. Taylor Jones recorded 13 points and six rebounds for the Longhorns.
Texas shot 69.2% (9-of-13) from the three-point line, compared to Vanderbilt's 18.2% (2-of-11). The Longhorns added an additional 22 points from the free-throw line shooting 84.6% (22-of-26). The Texas bench posted 27 points to the board to propel the Longhorns to a 21-point victory.
Holle put Texas on the board with a three-pointer in the opening period. With two 7-0 runs, Texas finished the first quarter leading 21-10.
Booker opened the second quarter with two field goals to maintain a Texas lead. Two back-to-back three-pointers from Jordan Lee extended the Texas lead going into the half, 38-25.
A buzzer-beating layup from Bryanna Preston closed the third quarter with the Longhorns up by 13 points. Preston tallied six points, three assists and two rebounds and gave the Longhorns momentum heading into the final quarter.
Booker opened the final quarter with a layup to surpass the 1,000 point mark in her college career. With a 6-0 and another 7-0 run, the Longhorns solidified their 87-66 victory over Vanderbilt.
Up next, the Longhorns host No. 2/2 South Carolina on Sunday, February 9 at 1:00 PM CT at Moody Center. This game will be televised on ESPN.

• Texas forced 17 turnovers and held a 27-14 advantage in points off turnovers.
• Vanderbilt came in averaging 85.3 points per game and the Longhorns held them 19 points below their season scoring average.
• Texas converted 22-of-26 (84.6 percent) from the free-throw line.
• The Longhorns shot 52.8 percent from the field to mark their 15th game this season shooting 50 percent or better. Texas is 15-0 on the season when they shoot at 50 percent or better.
