Women’s Basketball’s Harmon named semifinalist for Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award

ATLANTA — Texas women's basketball's Rori Harmon has been named to the 2025 Naismith Women's Defensive Player of the Year presented by MOLECULE semifinalist list the Atlanta Tipoff Club/Naismith Awards announced on Tuesday.
Harmon, the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year is the defensive leader for the Longhorns and sets the tone for head coach Vic Schaefer's team. Harmon picks up at 94 feet and is usually guarding the top offensive player for the Texas opponent.
Harmon is averaging 2.2 steals per game for the Longhorns this season and has 269 career steals, which ranks ninth on the Texas all-time list.
