Women’s Basketball trio named Associated Press All-Americans

Three AP All-Americans are the most in a single season in program history.
AUSTIN, Texas — Madison Booker earned Associated Press First Team All-America honors and Rori Harmon and Taylor Jones earned All-America Honorable Mention honors as the AP announced their teams on Wednesday.
Booker, an AP preseason All-American earns AP All-America honors for the second straight season. In her freshman season she was named to the AP All-America Second Team. Booker, the 2024 WBCA First Team All-American and Cheryl Miller Award winner, was announced as the SEC Player of the Year. This makes back-to-back conference player of the year honors for Booker, who was the 2024 Big 12 Player of the Year as a freshman.
Booker has scored in double figures in 27 games and 20 or more points in 12 games this season. Booker ranks second on the team in rebounding and has seven double-doubles on the season. As an incredibly efficient player, Booker is shooting 45.9 percent from the field on the season, 43.9 percent from 3-point range and 82.9 percent from the free-throw line. In the Longhorns last eight games against ranked opponents, including five wins against top-10 teams, Booker is averaging 20.5 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 85 percent from the free-throw line.
Rori Harmon earned AP All-America honorable mention honors for the third time in her career. Harmon is 1 of 5 finalists for the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award and a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award. This season Harmon became the first player in Texas women's basketball history to reach 1,200 points and 600 assists. Harmon ranks second in program history in career assists with 703.
Taylor Jones earned All-America honors for the first time in her career. Jones is 1 of 5 finalists for the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award and has been a force for the Longhorns this season. Jones has recorded seven double-doubles on the season and has scored in double figures in 22 games. Jones has 1,813 career points and 1,063 points in 93 games at Texas. Jones reached 1,000 carer rebounds this season as well and currently has 1,065 boards. Jones is shooting nearly 60 percent from the field on the season.
