AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Texas Tower will be lit in burnt orange with the number '1' on Monday, March 31, to celebrate Texas Men's Swimming and Diving's 2025 NCAA Championship.
Fans are encouraged to arrive in front of the Littlefield Fountain on 21st Street from 8-8:30 p.m. CT to watch the team take group photos.
Per UT tradition, the campus landmark is lit in burnt orange from top-to-bottom with the number "1" lit on all four sides when a University of Texas athletics team wins an NCAA team championship.
The Longhorns totaled 490 points to win the program's 16th NCAA title and it's first under first-year head coach Bob Bowman on March 29 in Federal Way, Wash.
This marked the first team national championship for The University of Texas during the 2024-25 academic year. Texas now owns 67 all-time National Championships, including 63 NCAA crowns. It also marks the 10th-straight full academic year (not including the 2019-20 season that was cut short due to COVID-19) that the Longhorns have claimed a NCAA team title.
In addition to clinching the program's 16th NCAA title, UT has a total of 37 top-three finishes at the national meet, including 13 runner-up finishes. The Longhorns have won the NCAA team titles in 1981, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2025. Texas has 45-consecutive top-10 finishes at NCAAs. It's Texas' first National Championship since 2021 and its sixth since 2015. Texas has notched 10 National Championships since 2000.
