04.24.2025 | Rowing
Admission is FREE at Lake Walter E. Long on Friday and Saturday.
Join No. 1 Texas Rowing this Friday and Saturday as they host the Longhorn Invite at Lake Walter E. Long (6614 Blue Bluff Road). This will be the Longhorns' only home regatta of the 2025 season and features a highly competitive field including No. 2 Stanford, No. 15 UCF, No. 20 Oklahoma, SMU and the Canadian National Team! Bring the Texas Fight all weekend long and cheer on the Horns as they prepare for the 2025 SEC Championships.
On Saturday, Texas and Stanford's I Eights will go head-to-head to the reigning silver medalist Canadian National Team, scheduled for 10 a.m. to highlight the action-packed weekend. Team Canada captured silver in the Women's Eight at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in August.
UCF's second-year head coach Mara Allen spent eight seasons as an assistant and associate head coach on the Forty Acres before landing the head job with the Knights. Allen helped the Longhorns win back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2021 and 2022.
The Stanford Cardinals will be competing at the Longhorn Invite for the second year in a row. In addition, Stanford finished runner-up to Texas at the 2024 NCAA Championship.
At last year's Longhorn Invite, Texas tallied wins in the First Eight, Second Eight and Third Eight. Stanford took home the victory in the I Four with UT finishing runner-up. The Horns also picked up a runner-up finish in the II Four after Virginia won the race.
The Longhorn Invite will feature proper 2k races for the second-straight year.
Friday's action begins at 4 p.m. CT and concludes with the final race of the evening at 6:15 p.m.
On Saturday, Apr. 26, arrive early for plenty of fan activities including:
