AUSTIN, Texas — Grace Prenter has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play basketball next season at The University of Texas, head coach Vic Schaefer announced on Monday.
Prenter, a 5-8 guard/forward from Dublin, Ireland, was a member of the Irish National Senior Team, who competed in the 2025 FIBA Women's EuroBasket Qualifiers. She was also a member of the Irish National Youth Team, which competed in the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket Division B, 2024 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket Division B and 2023 FIBA U18 Women's European Championship Division B.
"I'm excited to announce the addition of Grace Prenter to our Texas Women's Basketball family," head coach Vic Schaefer said. "Grace comes to us from Ireland where she's played on their national teams the past few years. Grace will be someone who can really stretch the floor and shoot the ball from deep range. She's very competitive and from that standpoint fits in well with our current team and roster. She comes from a wonderful family and we appreciate their trust and confidence in allowing their daughter to come across the big water to play for this staff with this team. She will be a great teammate and bring a competitive spirit to our team."
In the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's EuroBasket Division B competition Prenter averaged 16.1 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game and 3.0 assists per game. In the 2024 FIBA U20 Women's EuroBasket Division B she averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game.
