AUSTIN, Texas — ESPN Events announced the addition of a new owned-and-operated women's basketball invitational – the inaugural Sprouts Farmers Market espnW Invitational, set for Sunday, Dec. 14.
The first-ever game will feature a Big 12/SEC battle between Baylor and Texas at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. The matchup will tip at 12 p.m. CT on ABC.
The Longhorns full schedule, which opens at Moody Center on Nov. 3, has been released and is updated on the Texas Athletics website at https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/womens-basketball/schedule
This game adds to a challenging non-conference slate that includes five teams ranked in the top-25 at the end of 2024-25 season and two others that received votes in the top-25 poll.
Texas will take on (rankings from final 2024-25 poll) No. 3 UCLA, No. 7 Duke or No. 2 South Carolina, No. 12 North Carolina, No. 18 Baylor and No. 23 South Dakota State. Richmond and James Madison received votes for the top-25 in the final poll and are on the Texas schedule as well.
This event adds to Sprouts' extensive portfolio within the ESPN and Disney brand as they are the title sponsor for the ESPN Events' owned-and-operated gymnastics meet and volleyball invitational – the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad and Sprouts Farmers Market Broadway Block Party. Sprouts also serves as the Official Grocer of the Southeastern Conference.
