Bediako played her freshman season at Georgia Tech and sophomore and junior seasons at Marquette.
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas women's basketball head coach Vic Schaefer announced the signing of transfer Jada Bediako (bid-ee-ACK-oh) on Friday.
Bediako, a 6-3 forward from Brampton, Ontario played the 2023-24 season at Georgia Tech and 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons at Marquette.
Bediako played in 26 games for Golden Eagles in the 2025-26 season and scored a career-high 12 points against DePaul on 12/4/25.
"I'm so excited to welcome Jada Bediako to the Texas Longhorn women's basketball family," Texas head coach Vic Schaefer said. "Jada is an experienced player, having competed for three years at the Division I level. She brings the toughness, competitive spirit, and physical presence we were looking for. She also comes from a strong basketball family, and we truly enjoyed having her and her mother on campus during the visit. What stood out most was Jada's desire to be coached—she wants to be pushed and challenged to become the best version of herself. That mindset makes her a natural fit here at Texas."
Bediako brings international experience as a member of the Canadian National Team. She helped Canada to the bronze medal at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup.
"I chose Texas because of its winning culture and the consistent push for me to be the best version of myself," Bediako said. "The competitive environment and standards of the program only will get you better. It's a place where hard work is expected and success is built."
