Men’s Tennis advances three in singles, one doubles pair in main draw of ITA All-Americans

Sebastian Gorzny, Jonah Braswell and Sebastian Eriksson all moved on to the round of 32 in singles, while the duo of Gorzny and Lucas Brown reached the round of 16 in doubles.
Tulsa, Okla. – Texas Men's Tennis advanced three singles players and a doubles pair in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa on Wednesday.
Seniors No. 12 Sebastian Gorzny and No. 37 Jonah Braswell, along with sophomore No. 54 Sebastian Eriksson all moved on to the round of 32 singles, while the No. 39 duo of Gorzny and junior Lucas Brown reached the round of 16 in doubles.
Two of the wins were against top-15 opponents as Eriksson defeated 9 seed No. 11 Benito Sanchez Martinez of Mississippi State, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, while the doubles victory for Gorzny and Brown was over 4 seed No. 7 Timofey Stepanov and Tiago Silva of Cal, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (4). Gorzny's singles win was then over No. 39 Alessio Vasquez Gehrke of LSU, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0, while Braswell defeated William Manning of NC State, 6-1, 6-3.
The lone defeat of the day came as No. 99 Brown fell to No. 33 Vignesh Gogineni of Yale, including a first-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (3), 6-1.
Gorzny, Braswell and Eriksson will all take the court again on Thursday at 9 a.m. CT, while Brown will play in the consolation draw at 12 p.m. CT. Gorzny and Brown will then continue in doubles at 3:30 p.m. CT.
