Beach Volleyball lands at No. 6 in AVCA Collegiate Beach Preseason Poll

Longhorns earned highest ranking in program history.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Beach Volleyball will open the 2026 season ranked No. 6 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Collegiate Beach Preseason Top 20 Poll, the organization announced Tuesday. The ranking marks the highest ranking in program history, surpassing the previous high of No. 7.
The Longhorns are one of the eight Mountain Pacific Sports Federation programs to appear in the preseason poll, joining No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 Stanford, No. 4 USC, No. 9 California, No. 12 LSU, No. 13 Grand Canyon, and No. 19 Washington.

Last season, the Longhorns concluded their final year with the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association as conference champions and advanced to the NCAA Championship the first time in program history. Texas begins competition in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in 2026.
Texas enters its fourth season overall and third under head coach Stein Metzger.
The Longhorns open the 2026 season at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic against UCLA, Hawai'i, from Feb. 19-21. Texas will face UCLA, Hawai'i, California, LMU, Stanford, and USC.
