Four from Men's Tennis named to ITA Indoors All-Tournament Team, Gorzny selected MOP

Senior Sebastian Gorzny was tabbed as the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, while four of the six all-tournament singles spots went to Longhorns.
Austin – After leading Texas to a program-first ITA Indoors National Championship, senior Sebastian Gorzny was named tournament Most Outstanding Player by the ITA on Friday, while four of the six singles spots on the All-Tournament Team went to Longhorns. Those included Gorzny at No. 1, freshman Kalin Ivanovski at No. 2, sophomore Sebastian Eriksson at No. 4, and freshman Lucas Marionneau at No. 6.
The All-Tournament Team and MOP were honored for play at the national sites in Dallas and Waco, starting in the round of 16 and running through the final. In those, Texas secured wins over No. 8 Texas A&M in the round of 16, No. 5 TCU in the quarterfinals, No. 19 Baylor in the semifinals, and No. 2 Ohio State for the title.
All four Longhorns registered three singles wins with Gorzny going 3-0 with two top-15 victories over No. 5 Duncan Chan of TCU and No. 13 Aidan Kim of Ohio State, along another top-50 win over No. 42 Theo Papamalamis of Texas A&M, all at No. 1. Meanwhile, he and Marionneau paired to go 2-2 in doubles, including a tiebreaker win over the nation's No. 1 doubles team of Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin of Ohio State.
Ivanovski put together three ranked victories over No. 22 Preston Stearns of Ohio State, No. 49 Cosme Rolland De Ravel of TCU, and No. 106 Zsombor Velcz of Baylor. The win over Stearns clinched the championship for the Longhorns.
Eriksson collected wins over No. 99 Alexandru Chirita of Baylor, along with Kholo Montsi of Texas A&M and Oliver Bonding of TCU. Marionneau then registered a victory over No. 98 Filin of Ohio State, Togan Tokac of Texas A&M at No. 5, and Louis Bowden of Baylor, clinching the overall matches against both the Aggies and the Bears.
The Longhorns return to the court to start SEC play against Alabama in their first-ever trip to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, February 21, at 1 p.m. CT.
