No. 3 Women's Basketball takes down Missouri State to advance to Second Round of the NCAA Tournament

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 3 Texas Women's Basketball team defeated No. 16 seed Missouri State 87-45, advancing to the second round on Friday at Moody Center. The Longhorns remain undefeated at home this season and moved on to 32-3 overall.
Texas saw four players recording double digits in scoring, led by Jordan Lee's 19-point performance. Lee shot 8-for-15 on the field and did not give up a turnover in the win. This marks Lee's 28th game this season scoring double-digits, her fifth consecutive games doing so.
Madison Booker registered her eighth double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Booker now has 18 double-double games in her career. Kyla Oldacre put up 15 points (5-for-9) and six rebounds while Bryann Preston added ten points and four assists.
The Longhorns went on a 12-0 rally to open the game, with Harmon and Justice Carlton scoring four points each. The Longhorns defense held the Lady Bears to only four points in the first quarter, the second lowest of the season Texas has held its opponent to in a quarter.
Texas held Missouri State scoreless for three minutes to start the second quarter. The Longhorns dominated the paint with a 24-0 advantage over the Lady Bears with Kyla Oldacre put up 11 points and six rebounds. Texas ended the first half with a 32-point lead over Missouri State, only allowing two players to score in the second quarter.
Lee scored the first nine points of third quarter for Texas, ending the half with 13 points (5-for-7), the sole player to register double digits in the quarter. Teya Sidberry added six points in the second half, along with Booker scoring eight points and seven rebounds. The Longhorns held a 20-3 advantage in bench points over Missouri State in the second half.
Up next the Longhorns will face No. 8 seed Oregon in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, March 22. Tip-off for the game is to be determined.

-Texas held Missouri State to just four points in the first quarter – a new season low - breaking its previous mark of five points allowed against Auburn on January 8.
